Welcome to the board! Thank you for joining us!
We're very excited to have you role-play with us, but there are a few things you have to do to get started.
This thread will help you out with signing up, getting your application up, and starting to role-play!
1. The very first thing you should do is read the rules! There are two rules pages: One for OOC rules and another for IC rules. Please read both of them and make sure you understand everything written so you don't get into trouble later!
2. It's also very helpful to read all the threads in the guidebook board. This is so you know how things work on the forum, any changes we may have made to canon, and so on. There may be some interesting tidbits of history and information here as well!
3. Next, you need to create an account. Pick a username that's easy to remember; you can change your display name later. On that note, please have your display name set to what you want us to call you! You should not use your character's name as your display name unless you want us to call you that!
4. Once you've read all the rules and made an account, you can start making your character! You must post an application to be accepted by an admin before you can start role-playing.
Here is the application for canon characters and the application for original characters. You MUST use these templates.
As long as you follow all the rules and guidelines, you should have no problem with getting accepted.
5. Once you've been accepted, you should make a thread for your character's PC. The templates that you must use can be found here. This is important for keeping track of your Pokémon, items, money, and wardrobe. You should remember to keep it up to date at all times; if it's not up to date, the mods will have a lot of trouble moderating battles, encounters, and so forth.
6. When that's all done, you're ready to start! Make a new thread on the Lab board role-playing your character entering to get their Pokémon, and a mod will be with you ASAP with an NPC to help you out. You're allowed to meet up with someone else's character at this time, if you both agree to do so! It's always fun to start a journey with someone else.
After all that, you're ready to set off on your journey! You can go anywhere you want from Lumiose, though we recommend starting at Route 4, as the Pokémon there are very low leveled and will not wipe out your brand new starter as easily as Pokémon on other routes.
We highly encourage you to plan interactions with other members and even have trainers travel together. There are not many NPC trainers to battle on this forum, so if you're sick of only fighting gyms and wild Pokémon, you should considering asking to interact with another character!
Have fun!
