Obviously, you need money to do most things in the world. From buying items to participating in activities, you gotta have cash.
This guide will help you understand how money on this forum works, from how to get it to how to keep track of it.
Keeping Track
When you make your character's PC page, there's a section below your inventory for keeping track of your money (poké) and your battle points (BP). YOU will be responsible for keeping this up to date and being aware of how much you can and can't spend. Mods can help you when you make a transaction at a store, but it would help them greatly if you kept your PC and poké balance up to date.
Earning Money
There are many ways to earn money on the forum, primarily through these methods:
Trainer Battles
When you battle another member, you will get money for winning! Though, if you lose, you will have to give the winner some of your money. The set rate for this exchange is always that the loser gives the winner 20% of their current funds.
With NPCs and gyms, it's a little different. NPCs will always give a set amount of money, though you will still lose 20% of your money if you lose to a regular NPC trainer.
In gyms, you will not lose any money if you lose. The NPC apprentices give a set amount of money, and you get a set amount for beating the gym leader. Note that the money you get for defeating the gym does NOT come from the gym leader's personal funds, so if you're playing a gym leader you don't have to worry about having enough money to cater to all your challengers.
Quests and Jobs
Throughout the region, you will find several places where you can apply for a job or quest. Many of these quests will give you money as a reward for completing them. Some of them even give more money the more you complete quests from the same location!
Note: the harder you work (as in, the more you write) the more likely you are to receive a better reward.
Prizes
Money is often a reward for winning battle tournaments or other activities and competitions. Some activities may give you money without you having to win anything! So always keep an eye out for events that offers prizes, and get with friends to do tournaments whenever you like at the battle institute!
Trade
Lastly, you can sell items you don't want at all shops for a set amount of money. Items usually sell for 75% of what you buy them for. You can sell items directly on the shop's page, just as you can make purchases. If you have your own thread in the store's board for whatever reason, you can also buy and sell items within your writing, so long as you make sure to notify a mod to process the transaction!
Breeding
If you work for the Daycare Center enough times, eventually you'll become eligible to become a certified breeder and earn some land to raise your Pokémon!
Once you do this, you will have the option to put your stock up for sale for other players to purchase.
