Leveling up and evolution are a very important part of the Pokémon world, so this guide will help you understand how these things work on our forum.
Experience and Level
Every Pokémon, regardless of their level, requires 10 points to level up.
Here's the guide to gaining experience:
Defeating a Pokémon more than 3 levels below you = 1 EXP
Defeating a Pokémon between 3 levels lower and 3 levels higher = 2 EXP
Defeating a Pokémon more than 3 levels higher = 3 EXP
If you switch out a Pokémon that hasn't fainted or use an EXP Share, everyone involved will receive 1 EXP. Pokémon that faint during battle do not receive EXP unless they are revived during the battle.
Mods will process the leveling up for you, but you are responsible for making the changes on your PC page.
Evolution
The most common form of evolution is leveling up. Once your Pokémon reaches the required level, a mod will notify you that your Pokémon has evolved.
If your Pokémon requires an item to evolve, use the item and a mod will process the evolution for you.
If your Pokémon must be in a certain location to evolve, level up in that location and a mod will process the evolution for you.
Time-Based Evolution
Since it's very difficult to regulate a forum based on real time due to the time it takes to reply and so on, evolution that requires it to be a certain time of day is up to the member. Just describe that it is a certain time of day in your writing, and if you meet the requirements for evolution, a mod will process it for you.
Trading Evolution
Pokémon that evolve by trading still require that on this forum. All Pokémon centers are equipped with machines for trading purposes; collaborate with another member to have your characters meet up at a Pokémon center to carry out the trade using these machines. A mod will process the trade and evolution.
Happiness
Happiness is rated on a scale of 200 on this forum. Many actions, such as leveling up, evolving, participating in events, and doing activities with your Pokémon will raise its happiness. Mods will let you know when your Pokémon has earned happiness points, and you can keep track of how many you have on your PC page. Your Pokémon may evolve once it has 200 points.
Affection
On this forum, affection is rated on a scale of 100. To raise affection, you should feed them, play with toys with them, and do activities (such as going to the spa, the museum, or a restaurant) with them. A mod will let you know when your Pokémon has earned affection points, though you may have to let them know that you have done something to raise affection in the case of feeding and playing.
Note! Feeding and playing only count if you use items you have bought from a store or otherwise earned. You can't just pick something off the ground and use it to raise affection!
